He loves spending time outdoors, but was unable to navigate grass and other terrain with his wheelchair. Through Operation Second Chance, a nonprofit providing assistance to wounded, injured, and ill servicemen and women and their families, and a $13,685 grant from The Sgt. David J. Smith Memorial Fund, Maul received an all-terrain power chair, allowing him much greater mobility to enjoy outdoor time with his family.
