Athletic/Sports Camp Scholarships Available Through Muse Fund

FREDERICK, MD –May 8, 2013: Through June 15, 2013, students in grades 6 through 12 may apply for financial aid scholarships to attend fall 2013 athletic and sports activities or camps. The scholarships are funded by The Dustin and Courtney Muse Memorial Fund, one of more than 630 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County.

SSgt. Michael McCauley Foundation Fund Announced

Michael McCauleyFREDERICK, MD – April 12, 2013: SSgt. Michael McCauley lost his life because of war, but not in combat. Honorably discharged from the United States Air Force (USAF) in early 2008, he took his own life a few months later, due to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As a way to honor him and his six years of military service, SSgt. McCauley’s parents, Debbie and J. Scott McCauley, have established The SSgt. Michael McCauley Foundation Fund, to provide grants to nonprofits and scholarships to students. The fund becomes one of more than 630 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County.

SAIC-Frederick Contributes $7,500 to Shearer Fund

2013 Nonprofit Summit Registrants Qualify for $1,000 Grant

FREDERICK, MD – February 28, 2013: One lucky nonprofit organization attending the 2013 Nonprofit Summit on March 19 will earn a bonus for attending: a $1,000 unrestricted grant, generously provided by PNC. The nonprofit representative must be present at the time of the drawing.

Second Chances Garage Receives Grant for Automotive Lift

FREDERICK, MD – February 11, 2013: Second Chances Garage, a nonprofit with a passion for cars and a mission to help individuals and families become independent by providing safe and reliable transportation, received a grant from The Community Foundation of Frederick County to purchase a service bay automotive lift for their facility. The lift holds up to 10,000 pounds, allowing Second Chances to work on larger and heavier vehicles. Advance Auto Parts assisted Second Chances in acquiring the lift.
