2011 Nonprofit Summit Will Feature Michael Daigneault As Keynote
Michael DaigneaultFrederick, MD – February 14, 2011: “Leading Through a Crisis” will be the topic of the keynote presentation at the 2011 Nonprofit Summit, scheduled for March 15. The keynote presentation will be delivered by Michael Daigneault, Principal of D4 Consulting and Senior Governance Consultant for Board Source.
With the economic crisis now hitting many local nonprofit organizations and local level funding and donations experiencing some downturn, Mr. Daigneault will present best practices for navigating a challenging economy. He will explore what role board members should take during these crisis times, how they can help staff with fundraising, and how staff can further support the board’s fundraising role. In addition, Mr. Daigneault will discuss how to be an effective ambassador for your organization, and provide some traditional – and some not-so-traditional answers for how to lead through a crisis.
“I’m looking forward to spending the day in Frederick, working with local nonprofits to elevate their governance and leadership skills to a new level of excellence,” said Mr. Daigneault. “Boards of Directors, in partnership with Executive Directors, hold the keys to success – or failure – in challenging times. That’s why it’s so important for nonprofit leaders to take time out of their busy days to nurture their own learning and network with their colleagues.”
The Summit will be held at the Frederick Community College Conference Center, beginning at 8 a.m. In addition to the keynote presentation, three different educational tracks will be offered: Trailblazers Leadership Development, Supply Line Marketing, and Planning Your Ascent Strategy. Additional speakers include Bruce Lesley, President, Nonprofit Strategic Directions; Kivi Leroux Miller, President, Nonprofit Marketing Guide.com; Rosetta Thurman, President, Thurman Consulting, and Lori Bartczak of Grantmakers for Effective Organizations.
Staff and volunteers of nonprofit organizations who are involved with nonprofit management, fundraising, governance, board development, marketing and strategic visioning are encouraged to attend. The Summit is sponsored by the Ausherman Family Foundation in collaboration with HandsOn Frederick County and The Community Foundation of Frederick County.
