FoodPRO CORP Fund Awards Grants Totaling $17,650
FREDERICK, MD: April 18, 2011: The Community Foundation of Frederick County recently announced that grants totalin
g $17,650 from The FoodPRO CORP Fund were awarded to various nonprofit organizations during 2010 and to date in 2011.
Nonprofits that have benefitted from the grants are: Rebuilding Together of Frederick County, Inc.; Glade Valley Community Services, Inc.; Second Chance, Inc.; Independent Hose Company No. 1; Downtown Frederick Partnership, Inc.; Fauquier Free Clinic, Inc.; Renewanation; and Baltimore Outreach Services, Inc. The grants have supported projects such as food banks, culinary arts programs, food related events and workforce training.
FoodPRO, founded in 1935 by Niemann and Milton Brunk as Frederick Produce Company, has been a part of the Frederick County community for more than 70 years. “FoodPRO is committed to feeding people and supporting charitable programs,” said Tom Evans, Chief Financial Officer. “We hope our support of these worthy organizations will continue to make our community a better place to live, work and enjoy.”
The FoodPRO CORP Fund is one of more than 600 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County. The Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to establish charitable funds that provide grants to area nonprofits serving the community and scholarships to students.
