Frederick County 4-H Camp and Activities Center Receives Grant from Pauline Stauffer Memorial Fund
FREDERICK, MD – August 9, 2011: The Frederick County 4-H Camp and Activities Center has received a grant in the amount of $23,286.32 from The Pauline Stauffer Memorial Fund. The fund is one of more than 600 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County.
The purpose of the fund is to support capital improvements and purchases for Frederick County, Maryland based 4-H camp and activity centers providing services to Frederick County residents. The Frederick County center, located on Basford Road, used the grant to replace a rooftop heat pump, replace guttering and downspouts, and purchase a commercial mower.
“With the funding from The Pauline Stauffer Memorial Fund, the 4-H Camp Center was able to upgrade our lodge by adding air conditioning to the kitchen area and enhancing the front of the building with a new gutter system,” said Chris Kennedy, President of the Frederick County 4-H Camp and Activities Center. “The new lawn tractor will reduce the time spent tending to the grounds area of our facility. Thanks to the Community Foundation for assisting with our goals and mission.”
