Faithpoint United Methodist Church Receives Grant Supporting Youth Development Programs

FREDERICK, MD – June 2, 2017: Faithpoint United Methodist Church (UMC), Ijamsville, Maryland, recently received a $19,625 grant from Faithpoint Church Youth Dev small jpgThe Dr. Elizabeth and John Lewis Fund, one of more than 679 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County.

The grant supports Faithpoint UMC’s youth development character coaching programs and its commitment to a long-term partnership with schools in the Urbana, Maryland area. The program works through existing sports programs and trains coaches to integrate character lessons, motivational discussions, and counseling over ten weeks throughout the sports activity.

A meal was served to the coaches as part of the program. Youth participants who helped serve the meal were (pictured, left to right): Eden Bishop, Katherine Barber, Bethany Bishop, and Elaine Barber.

As a leader in grant and scholarship funding, The Community Foundation of Frederick County has given back more than $47 million to the community since 1986.
