Memorial Golf Tournament Scheduled

Julie Ann Robertson Cashour |
May 3, 2007: The Seventh Annual Julie
Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for
Friday, June 8, 2007 at Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville. The
tournament raises funds for The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial
Fund held by The Community Foundation of Frederick County. The fund
provides grants to organizations serving people with neurofibromatosis
or researching a cure for the disease as well as to those within the
community coping with a terminal illness. It honors the memory of
Julie Ann Robertson Cashour, who succumbed to neurofibromatosis at the
age of 36.
The golf tournament’s shotgun start is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., with
breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. The entry fee is $200.00 per person,
and includes cart and green fees, use of the driving range, an omelet
bar breakfast, lunch, a dinner buffet, drinks, and more. Hole-in-one,
closest to the pin, longest drive, and putting contests are planned as
well as raffles. Registration forms are due by June 1, 2007 and may be
obtained by contacting Jeff Robertson at 301.639.3737 or jeff@jarcmemorialfund.org
or Jordan Manos at 724-825-0736. Payment information is included on
the registration form. A number of sponsorship opportunities are also
available.
All proceeds from the golf tournament benefit The Julie Ann Robertson
Cashour Memorial Fund, one of over 600 funds managed by the Community
Foundation. In just six years, The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour
Memorial Golf Tournament has raised over $100,000.00, portions of
which are used to award annual grants in keeping with the Fund’s
charitable purpose. To date the Fund has awarded more than $25,000 in
grants. The Community Foundation is Frederick County’s premier
organization for promoting local philanthropy and charitable giving by
working with donors to establish funds that, in turn, award
educational scholarships and grants to area nonprofits. To learn more
