Foundation Fund Benefits Frederick Symphony Orchestra
December 9, 2008: The Frederick Symphony Orchestra has been an instrumental part of the Frederick community since 1997, offering a vast array of talent, music, and educational programs for all to enjoy. Under the direction of Conductor Elisa Koehler, the Frederick Symphony Orchestra’s eleventh concert season is brimming with classical and contemporary masterpieces, pop music and young artist showcases. The Orchestra, loved throughout the community for its quality performances and affordable tickets, recently added a fifth concert to its season in response to audience demand. It also started the Frederick Orchestra Guild for those who wish to volunteer for community service.
To ensure that the Frederick Symphony Orchestra will continue to have successful seasons for future generations to enjoy, it recently established The Frederick Symphony Orchestra Fund at The Community Foundation of Frederick County to support the Orchestra in its mission of providing music for the Frederick County area.
“The Frederick Symphony Orchestra has a long-term commitment to Frederick and the surrounding community,” says Treasurer Edward Goley, who added that setting up a fund at the Community Foundation will ensure that the Orchestra has the finances required to further its mission of community involvement.
Frederick Symphony Orchestra President Matthew Stegle said the Community Foundation has an excellent track record of managing funds for different organizations in Frederick. “We're proud to be one of their newest partners."
