8th Annual Julie Ann Robertson Cashour
Memorial Golf Tournament Scheduled

May 6, 2008: The Eighth Annual Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 13, 2008, at Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville to raise funds for The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Fund held by The Community Foundation of Frederick County. The Fund provides grants to organizations serving people with neurofibromatosis or researching a cure for the disease as well as to those within the community coping with a terminal illness. It honors the memory of Julie Ann Robertson Cashour, who succumbed to neurofibromatosis at the age of 36.

The golf tournament’s shotgun start is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., with breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. The entry fee is $200.00 per person, and includes cart and green fees, use of the driving range, breakfast, lunch, a dinner buffet, drinks, and more. Closest to the pin, longest drive, putting contests and raffles are planned.

All proceeds from the golf tournament benefit The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Fund. In just seven years, The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Golf Tournament has raised over $129,000.00, portions of which are used to award annual grants in keeping with the Fund’s charitable purpose. To date, grants have been awarded to many causes including the National Neurofibromatosis Foundation in New York, Kline Hospice House in Frederick, Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, the Brain Tumor Society, The NF Cure Project, and Neurofibromatosis Mid-Atlantic, Inc. for Camp New Friends.

Checks may also be made payable to The Community Foundation of Frederick County, and mailed to 312 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Indicate “The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Fund” in the check’s memo line. Contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
