Announces 7th Annual Golf Tournament
May 5, 2008: Golf and fun will fill the
air as The Korean War Veterans Chapter #142 holds its 7th Annual Golf
Tournament on Thursday, June 19 at Glade Valley Golf Course,
Walkersville, Maryland. Proceeds from the event will benefit The
Korean War Veterans Chapter #142 Scholarship Fund held by The
Community Foundation of Frederick County.
Shumaker Roofing is again this year’s Corporate Sponsor. Luncheon
Sponsor is PNC Bank. Gold sponsors include Frederick Mutual Insurance
Company, Korean Society of Maryland, KWVA Chapter 33 (Baltimore) and
the Lady Supporters, Chapter 142. Silver Sponsors are Dr. Paul
Gauthier, Perkins Reality, Ruth and Chip Chipley, Winnie and Bob Mount
and Rosalie and Glenn Wienhoff. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., with
a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The entry fee is $60 per player. Those

The Korean War Veterans Chapter 142 Scholarship Fund awards
scholarships to students who are direct bloodline descendants of those
who served in the United States military and who are eligible for
membership in the Korean War Veterans Association. To date, twelve
scholarships have been awarded to area students.
Proceeds from both the golf tournament and individual contributions
continue to grow The Korean War Veterans Chapter #142 Scholarship
Fund, making future scholarships possible. Checks in any amount may be
made payable to The Community Foundation of Frederick County, 312 East
Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Insert “Korean War Veterans
