Community Foundation Accepting Agricultural Grant Applications through March 27
January 22, 2009: The Community Foundation of Frederick County is pleased to announce that grant applications are now being accepted through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009, for both The Friends of the Great Frederick Fair Fund and for The AG-C.I.T.E. Fund.
The Friends of the Great Frederick Fair Fund provides grants for agricultural education, the renovation, construction and maintenance of buildings used to promote agricultural activities by nonprofit organizations, and the promotion of agriculture as an industry and a way of life in Frederick County.
The AG-C.I.T.E. Fund provides grants for nonprofit organizations providing agriculture education activities including hands-on displays of farm animals, farm equipment, crops, and other agriculture-related items as well as implementing agriculture education programs for farm and non-farm families, creating an interest in agricultural-based businesses, agricultural preservation and conservation programs, promoting agricultural literacy, and purchasing equipment or technology for agriculture training in Frederick County.
All nonprofit organizations focusing on agriculture are encouraged to apply for either grant opportunity. All applicants will be notified of the status of their grant request by May 1, 2009.
