Community Foundation Participates in
Employee Giving Campaigns

October 16, 2009: Public sector employees can easily support the Frederick County community by directing their donations to The Community Foundation of Frederick County through employee giving campaigns. By simply indicating the appropriate designation number on their contribution, donations to the Community Foundation will be used to award grants to worthy nonprofits and scholarships to deserving students. To date, the Community Foundation has given back over $22 million to the Frederick County community in funding to the arts, health and human service agencies, civic causes, historic preservation efforts, environmental groups, educational institutions, and youth programs and to students studying at the post-secondary level.

Public sector employee campaigns include the 2009 Combined Federal Campaign, the 2009 Maryland Charity Campaign for State Employees, the 2009 Combined Charities Campaign for Frederick County Public Schools, the 2009 Combined Charities Campaign for the City of Frederick, and the 2009 Combined Charities Campaign for Frederick County Government. Federal, state and public school employees are encouraged to direct their charitable giving to the Community Foundation through the following designation numbers:

54565 for employees participating in the 2009 Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area

54565 for employees participating in the 2009 Chesapeake Bay Area Combined Federal Campaign

54565 for employees participating in the 2009 Western Maryland Combined Federal Campaign

1310 for those participating in the 2009 Maryland Charity Campaign for State Employees

1200 for those participating in the 2009 Combined Charities Campaign for Frederick County Public Schools,

1200 for those participating in the 2009 Combined Charities Campaign for the City of Frederick; and

1200 for those participating in the 2009 Combined Charity Campaign for Frederick County Government.

As a nonprofit organization, the Community Foundation has been working since 1986 to make charitable dreams come true. It works with individuals, families, civic organizations, nonprofits, and businesses to set up charitable funds that award grants, provide scholarships and support worthy community causes throughout Frederick County.
