Maryland Master Farmers Scholarship Applications
Accepted through February 15, 2010

December 23, 2009: Now through February 15, 2010, students interested in pursuing a post-secondary education in agriculture or a related field, or farmers interested in coursework to enhance their knowledge of the farming business, may apply for The Community Foundation of Frederick County’s Maryland Master Farmers Scholarship.

The Maryland Master Farmers Scholarship application, with scholarship criteria and guidelines, is available by clicking the link. Additional information can also be obtained by emailing the Community Foundation at info@cffredco.org.

Dedicated to promoting the rich agricultural history of the beautiful State of Maryland and wanting to ensure that future generations will pursue a career in agriculture, members of the Maryland Master Farmers – C. Rodman Myers, Mehrle Ramsburg, Jr., Franklin S. Gladhill, and DeWalt Willard, Jr. – turned to the Community Foundation to establish The Maryland Master Farmers Scholarship Fund.

“The Maryland Master Farmers Scholarship Fund will help interested students to become better farmers through education,” say the Master Farmers. “Better farmers make a better food supply and quality of life for us all.”

Those interested in ensuring the future of agriculture throughout the State of Maryland may make a secure online donation to The Maryland Master Farmers Scholarship Fund by clicking here. Checks may also be made payable to The Community Foundation of Frederick County and mailed to 312 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701 with “Maryland Master Farmers Fund“ inserted in the check’s memo line.

The Community Foundation of Frederick County is a leader in scholarship funding for students eager to pursue their educational dreams. For the 2011-2010 academic year, the Community Foundation awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships thanks to generous donors who have turned to the credibility and expertise of the Community Foundation in establishing or adding to scholarship funds.
