Starting funds with less than $10,000

For donors not yet in a position to start a new, named fund with $10,000, consider the following options:

1. Join the Acorn Society

Acorn Society members agree to plant a seed with the intention of growing a tree. The community feels the positive impact in the future. Acorn Society members agree to:
a. Grow the fund to at least $10,000 within two (2) years or less
b. Name the fund
c. Understand that no disbursements will be made from the fund until it reaches the $10,000 mark within two (2) years or less

2. Contribute to a Field of Interest fund
Field of Interest fund contributors simply wish to contribute now to immediately start addressing the community’s most pressing needs. Field of Interest fund contributors agree to:
a. Donate to an existing field of interest fund
b. Decide naming a fund is not critical
c. Defer to the Community Foundation’s Grants Committee to determine disbursements from any field of interest fund

Please contact the Community Foundation to learn about the current Field of Interest funds to which a contribution under $10,000 may be directed.

3. Decide on a planned gift today
Funds may be started under $10,000 if intentions have been confirmed and conveyed that a planned gift has been made to benefit the fund in the future.
